In between personalities
2024 - presentAt night, riding home on a scooter along deserted polder roads—save for a few oncoming vehicles whose bright headlights blind the Brabant landscape—reality seems to become fluid. The polders, so familiar by day, transform into a backdrop of the unknown. Poor visibility gives rise to hallucinations, blurring the line between fact and imagination.
With one hand on the handlebars and the other on his camera, Ista documents these alienating moments: shadows of light and unexpected distortions. Through his documentation, he explores the boundary between what can be captured in an image and what remains only as an impression. The illustrations serve as memories of something that perhaps never truly existed, yet somehow continues to endure.
